Angela is a Senior Associate at Makes & Partners, where she is a key member of the Firm’s Banking and Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), restructuring, and general corporate practices. She has been recognised for her work in the banking and finance space, including being named a Rising Star in Banking by IFLR1000 for three consecutive years and being listed among Indonesia’s Top 50 Future Legal Leaders, reflecting her growing standing in the market.
Angela has developed a practice centred on strategic and intricate legal advisory work, particularly in transactions involving complex group structures, regulated entities, and multi-layered financing arrangements. She regularly advises on cross-border M&A transactions, syndicated lending, and structured financing, and is highly experienced in aligning acquisition strategy, financing terms, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
A defining feature of Angela’s practice is her work with large, intergenerational family-owned conglomerates. In these engagements, she navigates not only transaction mechanics, but also the broader structuring considerations relating to private wealth, asset management, succession planning, and sustainable intergenerational continuity. Her client portfolio spans leading real estate and property groups, domestic and international banks, and multinational conglomerates.
Angela regularly acts for both buyers and sellers, as well as lenders and borrowers, and is frequently involved in corporate reorganisations and restructuring exercises. Angela has been involved in several high-profile and complex transactions. Her experience includes representing and advising the following clients:
- PT Intercipta Sempana, a wholly owned subsidiary of the FSW Group, in one of Indonesia’s largest acquisition and restructuring transactions of 2024, involving the divestment of its entire stake in PT Dayasa Aria Prima to Siam Kraft Industry Co. Ltd. (a subsidiary of SCG Packaging Public Company Limited) and the subsequent exercise of a Put Option through a negotiated market share crossing.
- PT Agung Podomoro Land Tbk. (APLN), in the sale of strata title units of Neo Soho Mall and Deli Park Mall Medan, two iconic and landmark retail destinations in Indonesia, to entities controlled by Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corp., representing a high-profile cross-border acquisition of prime commercial real estate assets by one of Japan’s leading property groups.
- PT Prokemas Adhikari Kreasi, a key packaging subsidiary within the FSW Group, in its strategic and value-maximizng divestment via the mega acquisition by SCG Packaging Public Company Limited (SCGP).
- PT Summarecon Agung Tbk. (SMRA), one of Indonesia’s leading property developers, in relation to (i) the divestment of its interests in certain subsidiaries to PT Bukit Uluwatu Villa Tbk and (ii) the acquisition of PT Duta Wahana Asri to support the development of real estate and property projects in Parung, West Java.
- Kohler Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR), one of the world’s leading global investment firms, in connection with Indonesian competition law advisory and compliance for its multiple acquisitions in the education, health, laboratory, and technology sectors.
- Djarum Group, in its landmark acquisition of the parent company of Bakmi GM, a legendary and culturally iconic Indonesian restaurant chain, representing a strategic entry into the food and beverage sector and a deliberate diversification of the Group’s portfolio.
- Leafgreen Demeter Holdings Pte. Ltd in relation to the financing from Orion Credit Capital for the purpose of (i) funding the acquisition of Demeter Indo Investment Pte. Ltd and (ii) repayment of an existing loan.
- Sunningdale Tech Ltd., a Singapore-based global manufacturer of precision-engineered plastic components, on its acquisition of Sanwa Plastic Industry Pte. Ltd. and its subsidiaries in Indonesia, resulting in the creation of one of the largest precision plastics engineering groups in the region.
- PT Bank Nationalnobu Tbk (NOBU) in the acquisition by Hanwha Life Insurance Co., Ltd., marking a milestone transaction as the first Korean life insurance group to become a controlling shareholder of an Indonesian bank.
- PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF), as lender in providing a senior term loan facility to Mayapada Healthcare Group, supporting the strategic expansion of healthcare infrastructure and hospital facilities in Indonesia.
- PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk. (LPKR), as borrower in syndicated loan facilities provided by Bank Negara Indonesia and CIMB Niaga, supporting the Group’s corporate financing and capital structure requirements.
